If your hunting in an area with lots of sun or are in a glare type situation take a empty toilet paper cob and paint it black. It will fit over the end of your scope which will shade the glass from the sun and glare so you can still see thru it to make your shot.

The roll would go on the front of the scope. If you are using a smaller scope than a 40mm then cut the cob and size it to fit your scope and then tape it back together.
There is not much you can you do it the glare is happening at the back of the scope except for ordering one of those rubber eye cups for scopes.

Darn!!
I spent $40 for the Leupold metal hoods for my rifle!!! :ooooh:
Good tip to save some money Kevin.
That tube will help out a lot when the sun is low, and it also help keep stuff from hitting your scope glass.

Back before I could afford a scope on my rifle I would use a shot shell hull on the sights to prevent glare. Just cut a slot to fit sight base and slide it in place. Works on the same principal.

Great idea. One side of my blind looks right into the eastern sky.
