Hey Jim,
I'm looking at a map, and see that there are two boat launches farther north of the damn. One is on a two track just south of 126th Ave, and the other appears to be just South of Hwy 89. Have you been down to either one of these? In your spare time maybe you could look into them. I think they are on state land. Maybe we could camp there. If you could, Look into for me and let us all know.

the one on M-89 is under a bridge and there isnt any camping, although you could just sleep in the truck.
i have fished there many times catching good amounts of channels, no flatties however. but they are there. its probably a mile or two down river from the dam. people always fish there and have campfires, so the cats are there.

the other i'll have to check out. ther has to be a place to camp near there, its state land for crying out loud, just haven't located on yet.

i'll look around though.
