rules you say, just dont cheat. lol we dont have too many trot liners and stuff so i figured it would be rods n reels. it dont matter though, if someone wants to trot line or limb line just speak up. this is just for fun anyhow. i would think we will need pics just to keep it semi fair. i know some of you dont have scales so i dont know what to do about any close calls?

Well spur of the moment, travis n i headed to the 16th st dam tonight for a few hrs.. only about 3 really..:embarassed: he managed to catch a decent channel, missed 1, and another one broke his hook off...anybody know any good tying lessons he can take?:ooooh::smile2: so if anyone reels in a 55 lb flattie, with a 7/0 gamma circle in his mouth, you might return that hook to travis.. :ooooh:them things are expensive.. anyway, if travis was catching FISH tonight, no reason we all shouldnt have been:smile2::smile2:

Well, me and Blazerjet are gonna find out Sunday.... "skin" temp on the fish I've caught yesterday and today were in the 40's!!!

i can tell you the current was slow and stable. the fish were positioned at the tail end of the holes. they were by no means on the feed.lol all fish were caught on fresh cut gill. we had to work for them today for sure. i never thought of a skin temp reading,thats a great idea! did you use a digital thermometer, like for a kid? ill have to take mine next time!:wink: i hope to torment them for another week here.:wink: what else you want to know doc.?

Tail end of holes is good to know. I have one of those hand held lazer thermometers... very accurate. Did you know the head of a fish near the eyes are always 3 or 4 degrees warmer than the rest of the fish? lol
I'm guessing~ since you've got video that it was daylight. Any special times?

not realy seamed we just had to put it in front of them. we had a lot of small tugs that never committed too. if i had to say, i would say noonish. the water started to rise about 10:30 acording to the scale when i got home. take night crawlers with you also! i wish i had some today!

went out last night to a private secluded little body of water, travis caught a small flattie right after we got there.. then few mins later we got hit with the cold cold rain.. fishing was pretty dead after that. heard alot of noise on the surface, not sure if it was cats or carp. but didnt have any surface setups with us, we were only fishing on the bottom

Naw, I went out and gave it a shot this week on election day and struck out on the flatties so I pulled up in a channel cat spot for about an hour got 1, but it wasnt braggin size. Cold windy weather bums me out man!

I generally fish from Henderson to Hardin County (south of Shawneetown). There is some really good fishin' south of Diamond Island. Heck there are good spots all over the Ohio.:wink: I have been fishing below J.T. Myers more lately due to the lack of current though.

if nobody else has a problem with you joining in, i dont. lets see what you catch brother. we dont all fish the same waters as you stated in the PM sent to me. up north here, we are pretty much out as far as big fish till spring. it will be all ohio river boys taking the bragging rights for the winter. i look for blues at least in the 20s most of the winter from down south. come spring they will be shut out most of the time by the flatheads of our interior rivers. lol:wink:
what rivers do you fish mostly Scott? also where on those rivers, i bet there are some Indiana members fishing close.

I fish the Ohio almost exclusively from Henderson, KY to South of Shawneetown. Most of my fishing is on the Indiana/Kentucky section of the Ohio. There are several that fish that stretch. However, they are all from Indiana and Kentucky. I am starting to believe that I am the only one from Illinois on the website that fishes the Ohio!! :sad2:
