I figured we would start a thread to plan this 3rd Annual event. I was thinking of sometime in may. Any dates to throw around? What dates are good or bad for ya'll?

Well I tried some fishing yesterday off of Riverside Blvd. You wouldn't believe it, but I didn't catch a single one. Bait: sardines, chicken liver, stink bait's, and steal notta a fish in sight! or so seems. Can some one help me out with a tip as to what, were, and how to get a least 1 good one?

Hey bro,
Welcome to the skunk club:p I been the president lately;) Winter the cats get a lil slow and sluggish (at least they do here) and mobility is the key. When I am lazy and don't want to move around, my catches drindle during these cold days. Not know what your fishing spot looks like, I would fist say mobile, deeper water, head gates, structure and if you . The bite is slow and gentle most of the time too. Cats seem to stack up on each other so this means were you find one, there are possibly a few more.

The only cats that I have seen lately have required kitty litter.It seems that just as almost everyone else here we hit a bit of a dry spell this time of the year.They are out there but my locations,bait and fishing skills havnt been developed enough to get them yet.On another note,I am certainly going to be at the gathering for a day or two as long as I am not scheduled to work and I am not or will not be from the 25th to 31st.

We sure did Bert;) Those pics crack me up:) Linz and I was taking shots for every keeper and damn near drank that bottle. Caught a lot of fish that night:p Took a lil swim too:rolleyes: ROFLOL!!! Thanks for sharing them pics Bert.

Man thats a great video Vini. You dudes ever get anything on the DK bait, used it the first time at the river the last time i went just got 1 bite on it but got 4 fish on some hog wild. man if ya get the stuff on your hook good it's there to stay. Vine thanks for the map. how deep is the water. are you able to get a small boat around, looks like some sand bars or something south of the spot, sure looks like some good catfishen water

Hey thanks riverbud I try man added a few new things i've learned recently to that one.
Those are sand/mud bars and there FULL of clams all along the shoreline, so those fish eat good in those parts

Albertsons on first/Bullard usually has it, where'd you find yours Robb?
Theres several kinds, the one I did'nt care for is Terryoki the others are great.

got it at albertsons on Fig Garden Loop. It is made here in Fresno and is the best. Trust me;)

I went out a couple of days back to a little creek near my house that i fish,the water level had been to low for a while now and and due to that unfishable.Well the water level is up so I figured I would give it a shot.All that I pulled in was 1 nice size bullhead.Since I couldnt even catch so much as a cold this winter I was encouraged by this 1 meager little fish and went back today and caught 3 more in about a hour and a half.2 of them being decent 3 lb range but the 3rd was the most interesting he was a smaller male channel but his head was starting to swell in a pre spawn mode.All of the cats caught were close to what would be spawning areas.From all of this what I got was that the bite should starting to get near breaking open!

The 3 cats I caught last sat appeared to be pre spawning too. This is great news:) This is on of the reasons that I didn't do to good at my one hole, I was fishing in the deepest part. The 3 I caught was in the shallows:rolleyes: Thanks Lloyd, this made me stop and think about it;) I believe you are right sir.

Hey fellas,
I went out yesterday on my B-Day. I went down to stockton off of whiskey slough. Actually it was the same spot that Kevin Sugden caught that 9lb striper last year. Anyway, I started off with whole shad, but to no avail. I switched to sardine fillets and started getting some bites. Either the fish were small or just being picky though, cause I couldn't hook one for my life (I could just be rusty from not fishing all winter, but I choose to believe the previous!!) and I didn't end up with anything. It sure felt good to grip and rip on a couple anyway! If this weather will give us another break, I think I'll get serious and go out for an all day/night marathon. Well, you guys have a nice evening, and keep me posted on the gathering!

Hey brother Linz, glad to hear you got out and dunked some shad;) Cat bite will heat up for sure. Crappie and blk bass bite is hot down here right now. If you ever want to come down and fish over night, let me know. Just getting out and fishing is awesome. Getting bites is an added bonus and catching em is iceing on the cake:) Keep it up.

I went out and managed 4 more right before the recent cold weather moved back in,all little ones.Since then the only time that I went out just got 1 bite but it was nice.About three decent taps and about 3 minutes later my rod dern near bent in half and before I could set the hook he had me in a logjam.Its nice getting the bites near all that structure but it sucks how many fish and how much equipment that you also lose the structure that the cats love.

I cant wait for this years gathering,I havnt missed any of the CCG's yet and wont miss this one either.Thanks Robb for coordinating it for days that my bizarre work schedule permits me to attend.

Ok brothers..... bout that time I recon;) I will start a thread on the gatherings page. I thought I would go ahead and post maps here to and directions. River is high and looks to be another hot bite this year. Should do good again. It is primative guys. Porta potty a drive aways or the famous "s*#t trail" LOL!!! . We could change spots there to the entrance. Be right across the street to the resort:rolleyes: I like my lil hole there at the pump and the bank fishing there is good, plus you can land your boat there too. My other spot is there at the bridge. Mapps attached......

OK guys, the rivers and canals are running full:) The fishing is turning hot and will even get hotter;) Looks to be another great gathering. Start making plans to be there. Old time camp fire river bank fishing.
Like I said I will try for one day anyway. As I know I will be about due for one off lol before the dates though I will swap cell numbers with you incase we have any issues finding it if my cell works down there in that area lol.

Robb let me know if theres something you need me to make up specific as far as maps go I can do alot here with this stuff I have but it's hard keeping it down to the size limit they have and then keeping it readable because of the size limitations.

I'd buy that car if I had 1,500 and a place to work on it at. I had a 79" chevel malibu classic , its front end looked exactly like that one you have captain, loved that car till I smashed it into a light pole.
