Humminbird Quadrabeam

I have a model 767 combo unit and broke the transducer yesterday and have to buy a new 1 and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the quadrabeam and if it was worth the extra $25 for the transducer.

James, I don't have any experience with it, but I can see where the wider beam coverage could be useful when drifting in the lakes. For river fishing, I don't think it would be a huge benefit. You get roughly 2X depth bottom coverage with the quad beam 90 deg. vs the 60 deg. 1X coverage of the dual beam unit. If it were me, I'd probably go for the extra bucks, just so I wouldn't later say, "Boy, if I'd only...."
