Anyone know of some hot-spots for Flatheads on Westpoint Lake?

The guy you want to talk too is fishwestpoint (Paul Parsons). He had a great article in the GA Outdoor News (GON) this month about flathead fishing upriver at West Point.

When I get my 7 day tourist license in July, I'll be hitting up Westpoint Lake.

You can catch Flatheads on West Point Lake up the Chattahoochee River pretty much anywhere from the 219 bridge up to the shoals north of Franklin. Recently some guys have been setting limb lines all up and down the river and catching lots of big Flatheads. They are keeping every fish they catch so a lot of big Flatheads are rapidly dissapearing from the river. While this practice is legal it is not very sporting. Please help us protect our new Flathead fishery and keep only what you need to eat. Keep the small ones for the frying pan and release the big ones so they can get even bigger and before long we should be catching Flatheads in the 40 to 50 pound range from West Point Lake.
