Dave Carroll (aka Catdaddy) who was very active on the BOC prior to going back to school, has been experiencing chest pains recently. Yesterday, he a triple heart bypass operation was performed to help correct the problem. He went through the surgery with flying colors and is doing well in regular hospital room. Assuming continued progress, he should be released from the hospital by the weekend and will begin rehab. Please pray for this continued improvement.

My thoughts and prayers go out to him,as I have been there and done that,so I have a very good idea what he is going through right now. In 1991,I had a heart attack, went into cardiac arrest, was resuscitated and quadruple by pass surgery. Since then I have had to have 2 stents implanted to get more blood flow to my heart and I'm now what they call collateral dependent. I have had to adjust my life style a lot,but I'm still alive and doing as much as I possibly can. Tell him to keep his chin up and keep the faith and everything will work out for him. If he would like some more information have him send me a PM.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am ok and will be at full or lets say half capacity real soon. I say half capacity because I found out that the right half of my heart has been severly damaged due to past heart related issues. I never knew that back pain came along with heart surgery but that seems to be the main issue at this time.
Denny kept me informed about the well wishes being sent my way from the BOC and I am grateful for each and everyone of you that sent prayers up on my behalf.
Thanks again,
David "catdaddy64" Carroll

When folks meet me these days the first question seems to be " ( In a sorrowful voice) "I heard about your heart condition, how are you doing?"
The answer is :
Everyday, I see the daisies petals and not the roots, I am doing just fine.
Everytime, I get to smell the aroma of coffee brewing after a good nights sleep, I am doing just fine.
Everytime, I see a smile on the face of a child with their whole life ahead of them, I realize how short life really is and am more appreciative of the time spent here and for the time I have left and know that I am doing just fine.
Everytime, I hear the sounds of nature and see it in all it's splendor on a quiet summers evening, I know that I am doing just fine.
So for everyone who may still be wondering, How I am doing...
I am doing just fine, thanks for asking, how are you doing?

Glad to hear that you are doing well.It has been over 6 years since my heart attack and sugary. every day is a gift.
David, glad to here you are O.K. with the exception of the heart damage and the back pain. Glad to see ya have a good atitude about the situation. As you said every day the good lord sees fit to leave us on this side of the grass is a blessing. That's why I for one try to live each day to it's fullest and with a smile on my face. You never no when you will lose your health or worse.
