Any idea what the biggest cat caught in Lanier was? I've heard rumors of very large cats around the dam. Any truth to that?

First of all welcome to the BOC. As for the largest on Laneir I couldn't tell you. My largest remains under 2 pounds. For the catfish around the dam, well, its a common tale for all dams regarding a diver almost being eatin by a catfish. Or someone saw on the size of a VW bug. Don't believe it all. Guy round hear, chambers, knows the most about catching cats on lanier that read. Good luck

My biggest in Lanier is 12lbs but if you frequent the GON website youll see that a few folks are starting to pull the occasional flathead out of the lake this year and they have pictures to prove it so maybe we will have a similar flathead fishery like Hartwell one day in the future:roll_eyes:

There is a collapsed Dock with what used to be a tin roof on the left as you enter the cove. If you face that dock and fish to the left (between it and an uncovered double slip) you should catch catfish. I have caught them with worms and bream head in that area pretty consistently.
