Falls Lake, Winter Catfish?

Hey ya'll I'm coming up to raliegh tommorow evening. And plan on trying to squeeze in some fishing time at Falls lake. I would be on the bank do you know of any good bank spots? I was thinking about fishing there at the dam, not on the tailrace side but on the lake side. There's a little park down there, they close the gate at like 8pm but since I wont have my dad with me I probaly wouldnt be able to fish long at night anyway.

I'm going this evening....does anyone have any info at all on that area? Know of any good places to catch shad with a cast net off the bank or anything?
