winter catfishing

I was wondering if anyone can tell me where and how to catch catfish at this time of year during the beginings of ice out?

For year's I fished right after the ice went out with cut bait and did well, but not this year.
Cut is still the best way to go, just keep after it they will start to hit soon. (I hope)
