I did see an advertisement sayin that you can obtain personal type stamps from the postal system. Don't know the cost or the details but they are obtainable.

Great choice Jim!

Paul, or one of the Mod Squad, please let me know if it's okay, and I'll post all the info here, email etc. Thanks. That's the reason I didn't in the first place, the sheet with the stamps has the info on them. They're not EXTREMELY expensive, for what I got I didn't they were expensive at all. LOL Let me know, I'll get back on later, they're easy to get on line.
That was going to be my next project, get permission to make a set with the BOC logo. You beat me to it. Thank you every one for your great compliments, especially Pauls, LOL.

Thanks Paul, here's the info.
You can also go directly to the folks who make them at the following site.
www.photostamps.com. They explain all the costs, more sheets the less per stamp. You can also download your pics and try them out to see what you like best. They'll download onto a stamp replica. This way you don't have to send anything to yahoo.

Now y'all got me going.
The first thought I had was to ask Paul if it was okay to use a BOC logo on the stamps, then I remembered I already had it on my envelopes, with Paul's permission, that's when I went to my logo for the stamps. Now while I'm on the subject, thought I'd just show you the stationary I created. I use the envelope and stationary for all and any correspondence. When I mail a package, I make a copy of the envelope and use it as a mailing label, that way the BOC logo is always present. Here's a pic included of both.

Josh, nice to see and hear from you again. It took a whole BUNCH of honeydo's to get these. When I told her what I wanted to do, the Frau, in her infinite wisdom said, "why don't you just go to the post office and buy some stamps like I do":crying: , after all these years, she still doesn't have in her blood what I have in my blood, CATFISH FEVER!:love-big:, but after a lot of whining, begging, moping and groveling, she relented and said, "get your dam_ _ _" stamps. I don't care what it took, I got'em, LOL.

Catfish Fever
03-03-2006, 01:23 AM
Joe, thank you for the compliment, you probably read how I had to demean myself to get'em, lol, I don't care, I got'em!
Actually, I think now there is too much interest in Catfishing, at least on my home lake, our big Cats are being eliminated due to over harvest on the biggun's, I've personally experienced the decline in the last 3 to 4 years, mostly due to the lack of C&R, of the big boys. The local rationale is, if I don't keep them, some one else will. I tag and release all of mine over 8 now, used to be 10lbs. Wish you good fishing in this new year.
Apologize for the sermon.

Ken, thank you very much too. I'll keep this one short, I probably said more than I should have to Joe. Nice to hear you liked them.

Bert, you're very welcome, was happy to do it, this was just too good to hide, lol. I sent out a bunch of letters to friends and family just to wait and hear their comments about the stamps, really got some doozies. Like "how'd you get it thru the post office with those stamps you made on your computer?" LOL. I'm sure you can have some fun too!

Jim, have you been getting any shad lately? Hunting season is over now so I'm getting the itch to go fishing. I'm thinking of coming up in a couple of weekends. I can't hardly afford to go to Keystone anymore. I'll keep you posted and maybe we can get together.

Catfish Fever
03-06-2006, 02:15 AM
Calvin, we caught a pretty good mess about a month or so ago, they were all big, 10 to 12 inches. The first day they were to far out to get with a throw net so we were snagging them with big treble hooks, we got 4 5gal buckets full. The next day they were in close where could net them and got another 5 buckets. We kept some whole with guts, a few after we gutted them, we pickled a few containers too, thats always good bait in the spring, but mostly we gutted them and threw the carcasses back. We put up a dozen containers of guts. The fishing is excellent right now, but the catching is kinda slow:rolleyes: , I'll sure give you a holler when they start hitting good, if you'd like you and Sherry come visit for the weekend. Me and Jerald(Catfish Quiver) are going to start heading up North soon, up around Wakefield.

Calvin
03-06-2006, 09:38 PM
By up north do you mean up the river Jim? I thought those pictures you posted last spring looked pretty inviting. When the water starts to warm up a bit those fish should start feeding in the shallow water next to the channel. I'll keep you posted and maybe we can get a weekend with some decent weather before too long. How's Lydia doing? Does she think she'll be up to a trip south this summer?

Catfish Fever
03-07-2006, 01:09 AM
Calvin,
I didn't mean up in the river, just up around the Wakefield area. We went up there to day, marked some nice fish, just no bites. The lake temp down towards Curtis Creek has been running 40deg +/-, the temp up North today was 50+ in 17 feet. The water up there is a lot more stained than down South. It's not coming from the river, as it's barely flowing (25cfs). I think its just all the wind we've been having has kept the shallower water stirred up.
A guy I know went up the river last week, he couldn't get very far he said, the old guy with the funny little boat with a very shallow draft. He said he thought I wouldn't even be able to get into the river with the Toon. We didn't try today, next time we go up there though we're going to check it out personally. I'll keep you informed.

Calvin
03-07-2006, 09:38 PM
Sounds good Jim. The way the wind was blowing today it would have been tough out on the open water. I've got my eyes out for another boat. I'm looking for a 16-18 foot welded jon boat. If you happen to know of one let me know please. I need something I can get back into the trees with. I'm tearing my pontoon up trying to fish in those places.

Catfish Fever
03-08-2006, 12:54 AM
I'll keep a watch out for you on the aluminum boat. I know what you mean about getting into the woods. I've had my tubes welded/repaired at least a dozen times I can remember, lol, and it ain't cheap. Like I said, I'll let you know when a trip up here would be worth it.
As for Keystone, I have to agree with you, I'm hoping the price of diesel will drop down to a more affordable price, now that Lydia is feeling better, I'm hoping this won't keep us from going. If it's expensive for you to go down there, and gas is cheaper than diesel now, just think what it'd cost us, probably a couple of nights in the motel.LOL

Calvin
03-08-2006, 08:33 PM
That's what's worrying me Jim. My company is forecasting another banner year and in fact expect it to be even better (for them) than last year. I think $4 plus isn't going to be out of the question.I checked into renting a slot in a campground at Milford for the summer but it was ridiculous what they wanted for it. I guess I'll just stick close to home and fish Kansas lakes when it gets that bad.
Sherry is looking for a new camper. She wants a fifth wheel. Funny how when its something like that we don't have to scrimp and save to get it. But I've been saving every penny I could lay my hands on for a year now to get another boat (that I really DO need). I can sleep in my boat but I can't hunt or fish from a camper. lol

Catfish Fever
03-09-2006, 01:18 AM
What's wrong with the Toon you have? It's in a lot better shape than mine, a LOT newer too! Geez, don't even talk about $4 gas, I'll be towing the Toon down to the ramp with my riding mower or Catcart, lol. We would really like to go to Keystone, but when you add the cost of the trip there and back, then fuel for the boat, then the motel which is 50 some buck a day, and I wouldn't go for less than a week, it can add up pretty high. We'll just have to wait and see till the time to go gets a little closer.
Me and my fishing buddy are planning an overnighter, Sat to Sun, to Marion, once the weather warms. We'll just bring a tent or sleep in the back of the truck, of if the bugs ain't too bad, on the Toon. Maybe we can meet down there.

Bert,
you're sure welcome. How about posting the pics? I'm sure everyone would be interested in seeing them, I know I would.
I asked our rural mail carrier about them the other day, she said on here route I'm the only one. She's asked the other Mail carriers and they haven't noticed any yet, town carries either. Guess I might be the only one in Geary County :D with them.
