where im fishing doesnt have skipjack..the missouri river (neb city) and i know the best bait is the bait in the water your fishing.. even with that point taken.. a buddy of mine has fished this area with skip jack all last year and had more success on it then with carp bluegill and shad. so the question is considering where i am doesnt have it where can i get it? im not saying i want it right now this spring would be great but when he got his he went down to missouri to get it and im not driving 300 miles for bait. thats nuts. fishing is a different story. anyway does anyone know how i could get some here the tackle shops here dont carry them at all even during the "fishing season". help? suggestions?

I am not familar with your area but I assure you that the drive would be worth it if the skips are biting. Make a weekend of it and you will catch more than you need and you could help your buddies out. I catch mine at cumberland city tn, but I'm sure there is someplace closer to you. The skips are worth the trip, they are a blast to catch and they fight like crazy. Use an ultra lite rig and you will have a great time.

The Skippies may be closer than you think! Check out this link. Look at the distribution area.
