View Full Version : ?'s on mounting the H'BIRD 997 and gps puck

For those of you that have this unit, did you use the factory mounting bracket by itself or add a RAM mount to it. Also how did you mount the gps puck? I've seen boats with them mounted to a RAM gps add on mount behind the unit or simply mounted to the windshield grabrail on the console. If mounted to the grabrail, where could I get a bracket or mount to make that work. Any of you have pics of your setup to share or extra info on this I'd sure appreciate it. I'm planning to get this unit soon, so I'm trying to find out some of these things on the front end.

Here is a few pics of how we have ours set up. I haven't had any probs with gps lagging or anything either.

Andrew, thanks for the pics. Is that the heavy duty RAM mount?

Off topic: nice boat ya got there, really like the dual pro consoles w/ windshields and the rod rack! Looks like a Sea Ark, am I right?

I don't think it is the heavy duty ram mount and I have never second guessed the stability of it. And yep it is a Sea Ark.
