No Robert, I haven't been able to find any shad in over a month! Everything I've been catching has been on artificial bait. I tie feathers onto treble hooks, and attach to a 3oz. weight. Of course I'm also fishing just below the dam in extremely strong currents. I'm headed out there in an hour. The weather bad this morning. 31 degrees and raining a little bit. The weatherman said it's suppose to stay that way all day! Oh well. I'd rather freeze my but off fishing, than sit at home all day, wishing I was out on the water! I'm sure everybody here knows that feeling! Wish me luck:wink: I'll let yall know how goes later.
P.S. Here's a couple pictures of the 38 pounder caught recently!

Eric, I'm bank fishing at lock and dams #4 and #5. Depending which direction the wind are blowing. I'm too poor to own a boat!

I'm no good at giving directions on the river, but once you start fishing the Red, I think you're gonna like it! On our local thread, Catfishing on the Red, Alsey has fished from the bank, alot! And he always catches some really good fish. He may be able to help you out, as well as Mike.
Welcome aboard!!!

Stoner launch is just south of the VA hospital in Shreveport. I cought some down river past the first bridge. Look for at least 20 ft of water this time of year.

Hey Mike,
Those are some really nice fish. Would you mind elaborating on the feathers tied to a treble hook?
Thanks,
Jimmy
