This buck will take the #4 all time biggest whitetail killed by a hunter. It was killed in Macomb Illinois by muzzle loader. Final score was 301-1/4"!

man ive seen a lot of monsters latly. the other thread that deer killed in quincy, right now green scores 4-5 inches bigger than the mel-johnson buck.
Bowhunting's undisputed World Record Typical, the Mel Johnson buck was taken in 1965 in Illinois and scores a staggering 204 4/8 Typical. The only buck to ever receive both the Ishi and Sagamore Hill Awards from Boone & Crockett and Pope & Young.

I wish it were Quincy, but actually, it was killed near by in Griggsville, IL
That buck and the one killed in Macomb are both within an hour of Quincy.

I hunt a piece of ground 3 miles from macomb. a few draws from where the dexter buck was killed. Im hoping to get his grandson next bow season.:big_smile:

were having our big deer and turkey classic this weekend. ill be there all day tomorrow. i might and most likley see this one. if the taxidermist is done. sometimes they just bring in the skull plate to enter the big buck contest.
