Bait and gill nets

i dont know about KY but up on the james river this is how they catch there shad i was watching some of the film from catfishing america an watching them catching them in there gill nets to me this looks like it would take a lot of time out of your fish

i just watched a video on you tube ,about a dude catching nice big shad in a small gill net, just wandering if any body knows if thats legal for ky. the big shad he was netting was 10-12 inches nice catfish bait

It would be a pretty expensive way to get bait, A resident commercial license is $150.00/year and most gill nets cost from around $300.00 to $400.00 depending on mesh size and depth.
