Wooo hoooo!!!! I am getting off of work at 5 AM this morning so I am heading to Caddo Lake to try and help the enviroment. You see, what is happening is this, the White Perches are starting to gather in little groups (gangs). They can become quite unruly. Several little old ladies have been scared just this week alone. So, me being the concerned citizen that I am, I will take it upon myself to catch these little scallywags by the mouth and administer a little tough love. First I will rough 'em up with a good battering of corn meal then I will dip them in hot grease till they change their ways, or till golden brown, whichever comes first. Ya'll wish me luck. It's a tough job, but I am a iron man and these fish can't stop the pain train. And remember...Only you can prevent forest fires....

How did you do today? We are going in the morning out of Mooringsport.

Hey Ya'll, I think I've come to terms with the Cowboys losing. Hopefully with some therapy I'll be OK!!! Sure would have been a whole lot better if they had beaten the Eagles though!!! Maybe a loss now will help them refocus on what they need to do to win the NFC Championship!!!

:cool2: GO COWBOYS!!! :cool2:

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! You gona get me in trouble ifin' the truth comes out!!!:smile2:

Actually, I was huntin' n my buddy Shanes land. They manage it for trophy deer. In the last 3 years, only one buck has been taken, and it was a monster. They want to take 12 does this year. 6 down and 6 to go!!

Hey Eric that looks like it may be part Axxys deer. There is a guy in Blanchard that is raising them on his land. He also has mule deer, Elk, Caribou, and ostrich on this property. Maybe one of them escaped and doing his thing.

Hey Ty! 1000 posts!!! Way to go! I can't believe it took you this long, though. I'd have figured you'd have been there a loooong time ago. And thanks for having us over the other night; we had a blast also.
Eric, congrats on that neat looking piebald doe! Cool huh? You said y'all have 6 does down--are you telling me that one counts as 1 "whole" deer??? Haha! Just kiddin'; sure is a pretty thing; should make a nice rug.

Ty, Eric and I really had a great time, too. We always do when we get together. Thanks for havin' & putting up with us.

What a great weekend in football, huh? Brett Farve broke another record, the Saints won, the Cowboys lost. Can't get much better than that, ok, except that Eric & Shane hooked up my BIG tv for me and the games looked really awesome..........

The white perch bite on the creek was slow this mornin', but the fish were good ones. David Stutson made the trip with me, and we had a blast! I been promisin' him a fishin' trip for a while, and we finally hooked up.We ended up with 26 perch. Here's a pic of a few of them.

First of all, Jim, I agree with Rupert...nice CATFISH, & if anybody can catch CATFISH, it's you, cause you sure know where the CATFISH are! In fact, if Eric wasn't so busy chasin' perch, he could be helping catch some CATFISH, and maybe we could have some more pictures of CATFISH on here! And you know, once spring gets here, we'll all be chasin' CATFISH on the Mighty Red, again. And of course, me being the only 2-time winner of our CATFISHING club, well, I'll sure be out there chasin' them CATFISH with the rest of ya'!

Good luck Kevin, catch a few for me. I don't get off till 4Pm this afternoon and won't get to go fishing till Monday but I plan on doing some squirell hunting with my dogs this weekend. Got a couple of young boys, 14 and 15 yr. olds that are a chomping at the bits to go. I think they like it about as much as I like watching them have fun. Have a good weekend and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Only stayed about 2.5 hours cause the kids can only go so far in a boat before somebody gets punched in the orbital socket! Kept 8 all over 1 pound, 5 decent yellow bass, and tossed 3 small perch back. Could have fished a little harder and caught several more. Seen several guys doing very well. Fished in 18 foot of water and caught all fish between 14 and 16 foot. I used shiners but I hear jigs are doing pretty fair as well.

Good luck in Mooringsport James. The launch on 538 was full when I got there this morning around 8:30, so I can imagine it will be pretty busy tommorow.

Did ya'll fish in Mooringsport? I haven't heard very good reports from there this past week...not since the storms last weekend, so I am still debating on where to go!

We are debating on hitting the Uncertain part of the river on Caddo. I have heard some REAL good reports coming from there & around Johnsons.

Well, if we can get everything all together again, we're gonna go to "the creek" and camp & do a little "perchin" ourselves tomorrow night. And, of course, it's gonna be 29degrees!! Last time we pitched a tent, a couple of weeks ago, it was just about that cold!! But it sure is fun; sitting by a fire, burning up some marshmallows, looking at the creek, stargazing......yep! I'm ready to go!!
Good luck to all of you who are going fishing....and to all of you who are going to venture out & go shopping------GOOD LUCK!!!!!:smile2:

James, I was fishing out of Mooringsport. I saw several people doing well up until around noon and the bite fell off(for me anyway). I have never fished the Uncertain side but I have seen some very nice fish coming out of that area. The water in Mooringsport is still stained , but it is pretty clear on the Texas side from what I have been told. Good luck either way you go.

Hit Caddo at Mooringsport this morning from about 7am til about 1030, ended up with 23 crappie that we kept, 8 dinks, & about 12 white bass.

The best bite seemed to be the first couple of hours of daylight, after that, they shut off...at least for us! It started raining pretty good plus we had almost gone through about 4 doz shiners so we pulled out, bought more shiners & hit Cypress & Black Bayou without another bite! Guess we should have went back to Caddo!

loved all the pics Eric! What a blessed year!

Yall remember the Lighten Up Louisiana thing Rob posted this year. Well, it starts back up on Jan 7th and this year the website is so much better! It has a way to track your steps and has a map you set your route and it tracks it . Mine is set to the Texax state line.....and every day I enter my steps in and it tracks. the website is http://www.healthycommunity.ca/LUL/Default.aspx

I also wanted to report, Ethan is got bad news today. His white cell count is up and the Leukemia is back even stronger. They have him scheduled for a full marrow transplant on New Years Eve. He may not make it to that date. If his count continues to rise, he is being sent home. Continue to pray for little Ethan. He has touched my heart in so many ways and I love him like my own.
