Lock and Dam on the Red River out of Shreveport

When will the cats start bitting at the Lock and Dam out of Shreveport? I think they call it number 4, on the Red. I have never fished there are even been there, but I want too. I understand you can catch nice size blues in a hole at that area.

That's lock and dam #5. #4 is below Caushatta. The blues are biting right now below the lock on shad in the deep holes. It usually stays good all winter and through the spring. High water is the only thing that will stop you from fishing. The current just gets too strong, but so far, that is not a problem.
