I want to upgrade my electronics and while exploring the options a lot of it is tech talk i don't understand. Anyone have suggestions on a unit under $500 and what options are truly useful. Transom mount.

i would look ath the eagle seacharters or fish elite's
they are good products that are less expensive. U can get one without color and with GPS for under 500

Thanks for the advice and i will take a look at those products. I was stuck looking at the Lowrance models hovering around 500.

Transom mount A 135 lowrance is a great unit forn the price I fished for years with a 125 and caught a lot of fish with that thing
