how do you use users, with a boat mounted unit or by its self

I use mine hunting, and if my speedometer locks up, i use it as a speedometer. when hunting, I use it to mark stuff, places, helps me get familiar with where i'm at. the woods looks different even just 50 ft from someplace, so its handy to know where i'm at, and get to another place.
sometimes when i'm drivin my speedometer locks up, so i can use it to tell me how fast i'm goin, and how far i am from gas stations marked on the route

I use mine in my truck, on my boat and when hunting, I am able to download topo maps for areas I am going to.
