after an encounter with a nice buck with my bow last week, i decided to head back to that same stand but this time with my rifle.at about 830 i saw a big bodied deer off about two hundred yards.when i looked thru my binoculars there was no doubt he was a shooter.he was following a hot doe and they were taking their time crossing a small opening.i was in a small cottonwood and i could not find a good rest from my stand so i climbed down the tree a little and found another branch.that still was not good enough for a two hundred yard shot, so i climbed down some more and found a better rest ,he was standing broadside so i squeezed off a shot and he humped up and stood there,i shot a second shot and he ran about ten yards and piled up.he has a ruff main frame score of around 170 and a gross score of 185 and has 15 scorable points.thank you god!

Dear Brother Jeff;
CONGRATS on the nice Buck!
But even more important, at least to my eyes, and the reason I'm giving you Reps, is because you took the time to get the right shot!
I have a hunch, just from what little I read of your post, that if you could not have gotten the position to where you have a 95%+ sure shot you would NOT have done so!
THAT is why I am "Reping" ya and THAT is why you have my Admiration and Respect, even more so than the nice Buck! :wink::big_smile:
Not everyone would understand this but I know you do! :wink:
Sincerely, Respectfully, and Fraternally,
Coyote1

That's nice Jeff. Thanks for sharing. What gun/caliber did ya use. In Indiana we are slugs/muzzleloader country, so two hundred is really reaching out there for us. I just get to smile at em if they are that far, LOL.
