Lake Hartwell

Wife and I are taking our son camping this weekend at Hart State Park on Lake Hartwell. Just wondering if the catfishing is good on this lake, especially from the bank.

I do know that Hartwell has some nice flatheads. I remember reading some GON articles on this. You may want to google it and see if the articles are still online. I personally have not fished Hartwell. I know that the Clarks Hill just south of there, but same river system, has some jumbos.

Any places I can rent a boat around there?

Hartwell Marina is right beside Hart State Park and I think they rent boats. The phone # there is 706-376-5441 if my map is correct. There have been some big blues and flatheads caught there according to GON, but I think most of the catfish there are channels.
What a game Sat. night, I'm sure you didn't like the outcome but it was a great game. Go Dawgs!
