O.K. Heres one you will wonder about for years.
My fishin buddy's dad told us about how to catch a lot of baitfish in a short amount of time. all you need is a boat, a couple of good gas lanterns, a net to go across the back of the boat between the motor and bench seat, a pair of oars, and a used football helmet with guard. Well, we asked and he explained that you anchor off the bank about 6 foot away in a cove if possible. Then you rig the lanterns to the sides of the boat about even with the bench by the transom. Set the net up as wide and as high as it will go, get in the boat and sit along the side between the rear and front bench. Face yourself to the rear of the boat, put the football helmet on,grab an oar or paddle, then start slapping the water ever so lightly,but make a constant rythym while slapping the water,making sure to not make a real big wave pattern. Do this for about 5 minutes and fish will start jumpin into the boat towards the net,hit the floor and walla, heres your baitfish.
Now I know you think I lost it, just as I thought my bud's dad did, but we dared him to demonstrate this to us thinkin he would back out, but..he went with us to the fishin spot he use to fish at as a kid, we waited for dark, he got in the boat, did what he told us, and brother, this worked.
I dedicate this story to him, he passed away peacefully last week at 93 years old. But seein this made a believer out of me,and I hope this brought a smile to your face.
