How far in advance do you need to apply lime to your soil for it to be effective? Do you plow it in, and how long do I wait to plant? By the way I am a new member and love the info from the BOC. Very Helpful!!!!!

Welcome to the B.O.C. brother, are you sure you need to add lime? first of all. I am sure everyone is different but we always add our lime to where it is needed in the fall so it can set through the winter, but that is up here in Illinois. Also we use the local co-op for soil testing to make sure it is or what ever is needed and how much, your local ag or farm service or Land Management should be able to give you the exact quantity and everything, some even offer a free service to do this and other are not very much at all if they do charge. Hope this helps ya a bit.......Randy
