Caught a nice blue last night

My buddies Bray and Wynn invited me to fish the North Fork with them last night. We used baby carp and perch primarily for bait. Around 11:00PM, I had this nice blue hit on two very small perch I'd put on a 7/0 Eagle Claw circle hook. Once again, there were storms moving in. That seems to be the lucky weather condition when we fish the river these days. Whenever we've been down there lately, there's been storms rolling in & we catch good fish. Go figure. In addition to the bigger bluecat, I also caught a 7 lb blue and Bray caught a really nice 12 lb flat. The bigger blue went 28 pounds. If he'd had any gut to him at all, he could've been in the upper 30's. He was pretty skinny, probably had been spending all his time on a nest somewhere. He was all head & length, with not much body on him. Good looking fish though.

Anyway, it was a fun night with a couple of really good friends. It would've been a great time, even if we'd been skunked. What more could a fella ask for?

Well, Bray caught a flathead but I didn't. I don't know why, but I enjoy catching flatheads more than anything else. Maybe next time.

Fishin with friends is a wonderful experience. If the friends are really good, time flies by and you don't even notice the time or hear the cell phone. Catching fish is just icing on the cake. :feel_good::byebye:
