Hey anyone up for some fishing next week I know most will be off next week and just wanted to see if anyone wanted to hit the delta or any other hot spots that are hitting. Let me know if interested Phil and Robb you guys still got my number I hope if so give me a buzz. :rock-big:

I'm going to maybe do some scouting tonight or tomorrow for some sturgies.
HEY i just took 2 days off but i have a feeling next weeks going to be a slow one end of the month and all i may be able to take one off somewhere during the week i'm game if so.

I have read the rivers are FULL up there they've been letting out alot of water we're going to have to get some big weights 10-12 oz if not more? to hold things down unless that water recedes a bit it was up 8 feet this week in the sacremento river... :eek:
What about brian is he back yet? I'm thinking about seeing if my cousin wants to go too he needs to get out and do some fishing but i doubt he can get the day off unless its raining he finishs cement.

Yeah i just responded we'll have to figure out how to do this since theres no night fishing there we might have to move on and go somewhere for the night.
Get with John and we'll get this figured out for friday and maybe half day Saturday??????
Just checked the weather radar we got RAIN in the forecast i need to get that front wheel looked at before we go hopefully on thursday its doing some dangerous things in wet weather . :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:

I got tons of weights we can just tie rap a few 8oncers together to hold the bottom.
Its going to take about that much to hold it down :eek:
lets see how thing progress by the end of the day tomorrow then decide we may just wait until things clear up a bit john but we are going to get up there.

Went out to the Game Reserve this morning and caught 3, about 2lbs each. Vini, you missed a great video opportunity. There was about 15 feet of slick mud to cross to get to the water. As I tried to get down to net a fish I began to slide down toward the water. Big net in one hand and pole in the other, I ski'ed about 4 feet before falling flat on my back in the mud. :D
Got the fish though. That fish was saying "urp urp urp" like it was laughin' at me. I wasn't laughing a bit. :mad:

Robb, I had some leftover shrimp to try, no bites on that. Chicken liver with garlic "Slime" from a spray can got bites. Bait the hook, then spray it. leaves a sticky green gob that is supposed to slowly dissolve. I like it. Bought it at Alcorns.
Well glad ya did'nt get hurt or drown Captain and i for sure would have got ya on video i keep that camcorder handy.
Thanks for the report guess we're going to see what its like in the morning and shoot out there i spent an hour today trying to hunt down a place out there by childrens hospital that someone told me about but everythings pretty tightly BARBWIRED out there really piss's me off we can't have access to the river but by going thru someone elses land that just aint right.....
First i've heard of that slime stuff its sounds like its worth trying out though.
The last time we went out i bought some mussels at R&N market and was definetly getting some bites out there on them and there alot tougher then clams stay on the hook better and not to expensive.

I know where that is, the old gravel pits. Closed for the winter probably. Costs $6 to get in. There is a little bait shop in there.

I don't know robb i may have to go to Merced Saturday to do a job for my Ma she has a house she's selling and wants it painted lemme see how things progress this week i may be able to go up friday and paint the places and fish this weekend, i HOPE.

There is a road going south from the middle of Ave 7 1/2 on this map. It goes through a gate, then through an orchard down a hill toward the pond with the round island in it. Turn east between the ponds and you will see the bait shop on your right. That's where you pay admission. Over on the right (east) side of the map, above the bridge you can see a launch ramp.

Ok i think i saw it the gate was open but had tresspassing signs up so i did'nt go in, road went right into an orchard then looked to go downhill bet that was it DURNIT. I just did'nt feel like getting shot that day in case i was tresspassin ;)
Freaken River goes right into those holding ponds then back out, wonder can we get to the river from back there or is it all fenced off with barbwire and private property? i think it is .

Anyhow i think i'm going to be working again Robb i got 2 paint jobs for the university this week plus a bunch of patch work, i've already started patching caused by leaking roofs and that last rain its all i'll be doing all week PATCHING...

Bert Robbs out at mendota right now, just called brian see if he wants to go out there with me so we can meet up with Robb just waiting for his call.
Its a really nice day out to good to pass up, more rain is on the way gonna take advantage of the few hours i have off for the weekend and go.
