Another newbie

hello all, i am a new member here although i've been reading here for a few weeks. i am also new to fishing the river. i'm not much of a fisherman, but am trying to learn the secrets to catfishing the mississippi. i've tried a couple of times fishing jugs behind rock dikes and sandbars with little luck. Any way i am 27 years old, from Cleveland, MS, and fish out of a 17' bass tracker with a johnson 60. i look forward to learning more from everyones post.

mississippi kid i usually put in at log loader in rosedale or in lake whittington and go out the chute. I guess it depends on where i want to go on the river.

Welcome to the BOC! I fish Greenville most of the time but have been venturing north lately. There are a few of us that fish Greenville regularly and have been going to Rosedale, Dennis Landing and Farrell. Any time you venture south, post a note on the World Class Fishing thread and some of us may be able to hook up with you.

How has the fishin been up your way? The last three times I have been to the river, I think I caught one each time and nothing over about 5 pounds. I'm planning on going this weekend at Greenville.
