Chattahoochee catfish

Hey everyone, new to the board and just wanted to drop a line!
I have spent the past week fishing sites up and down the "hootch" from south atlanta to whitesburg, and I must say the catfishing is great.
Just found out after 16 years of being married my wife loves to fish (gets her out of the house)
So we spend lots of time with our youngest son catfishin'
And yes we practice catch and release there, but lots of photos. We got 'em
from 4" to 30" night and day on nightcrawlers, but looking forward to trying out some other stratagies.

:0a25:1st let me say Welcome to the boc. 2nd Iam headed to Columbus on Tuesday for vacation I plan on fishingin Westpoint Lake & Lake Oliver.Do you know of any good spots on the Hooch near Columbus Ga. I would be very greatful for the info. Thanks:big_smile_2::0a31:

Philly, as far south I have been is whitesburg, ga but Franklin, Ga just north of West Point is understood to be good up highway 27 runs right to the "hootch" and the boat dock is right there.

Fished the Hooch in Columbus last night, the kids caught a couple of channels,but no bigguns.The bugs kinda chased me away. :smile2: Next time I'm down I'll be sure to fish West Point lake.:0a23:
