Ohio DNR has a list of public ramps on the ohio, in most cases there is bank fishing available around them.

The one I fish most is the the Cincinnati Public landing.

There is a ferry crossing maybe 8 miles from downtown. I have seen a lot of people bank fish there. Rt.50 west to River Rd.

The ferry Catbird is talking about is Anderson ferry.I have fished there only caught Channels but was told that the KY side is better side to fish and you can fish both sides of river with Ohio license thats the agreement between Ohio and KY.There are a park people have told me about called Fernbank park in Salyerpark area of RT50/ river road that has Ohio river access. If you find a nice spot please post back always out to find new spots.

Tried that park but was chased out park ranger who wanted to give me a ticket for being in the park after dark.He didnt care if the fish bite better at night so I pack up my stuff headed home what a bummer.

Sorry to see you had a bad time. I was out on the river Thursday night and we didn't catch anything but gar again. The river needs to get some current going to help pick up the fishing.

I usually fish down around 8mile rd, I beleive it is down off of 52. Father-in-law showed me that spot and we have had some good luck down there.

Here is a mapquest link. You park on the side of the road and we have a trail leading down to the area. It is wide open banks with room for about 10 people to fish.

Catfish4,
Across the river from the public landing in KY is a park right at the mouth of the licking river, it's a popular spot too. Have to be careful where you throw your lines though, I think the recip licensce agreement only covers the ohio river. Fish the licking with an Ohio license and you might be in for a fine or worse.

i've had decent luck at anderson ferry.

ky state record blue cat was caught at the lock just up river a few miles on the ky side. you can walk right to it with no mud or sand too. (at least you could last i was there) that record blue was 103 lbs. i've still got the clipping out of the enquirer in my wallet.

there is a great spot to bank fish in aura indiana Right at the mouth of hogan creek we catch some hogs right there out of a boat, but there are always people bank fishing there. Go down 50 west through lawranceburg you will cross a bridge That is hogans creek. turn left on state rd 56. after u make that turn about 50 yards you turn left right before the right hand curve cant miss this curve its a 90 degree curve. Turn left right there u will see an old broken down RAMP there and a gas station on the ohio river. That is an outside bend that bottle necks and speeds up the current there. There a hole out in front of there that is about 65 feet deep depending on water level. Also there is a grain barge on the other side of hogans creek. You can problably cast close enough from the bank there. catch mostly blues and channels in there never caught a flatty there. Also there is a couple of other good spts. Arnalds creek boat ramp is right after u come out of Rising sun on the right hand side. u will probly see it as u go by it. The sighn is right at the ramp. U can see the prking lot and the light in it. Cant miss. another spot is bryants creek it is on down on the left hand side. GREAT SPOT when the fish are in there. These spts are in order from east to west.
