Does anyone know for sure whether there are blue cats in the St. Johns river? I have seen some pictures that a friend took a couple of years ago of 3 catfish they caught over 20 pounds from the St. John's and they looked like blue cats. I have spoken with wildlife biologists and they say there aren't any in there, just channels, bullheads, and whitecats. Would like to hear some reports. Thanks...

I talked to an ole timmer this week and he said that we do have Blues and Flatheads in the river and Dunn's Creek.
We are new to catfishing so do not know for sure, but are looking for them.
Have a great day.

I have caught blue cats in the wekiva river ,It dumps into the st johns around debary fl .Some of those fish went 30 lbs. I have lost some that were much bigger because I was using lite tackle and fishing for sharpies [small cats]
The blues come into the wekiva in may and june every year .
Some folks take them with a bow along with gar and talaipa.
