We've got sleet and ice in N. E. Arkansas, schools are closed and it seems to be thawing. I sure hate the icy skid stuff.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We got about 3/4 to 1 inch of snow here and they Called off school. This is the funniest thing. I was in Alaska working for Laidlaw Transit, a School Bus contractor, for the 8 years that I lived up there. We ran about 120 School Busses out of our facility. We get some SERIOUS Snow up there, and in all 8 years that I worked there, They never closed school one time. The busses always ran and not a problem. But here in AR, a few flurries and they close School, What a bunch of Pansey A$$ES, LMAO
What can I say,
Gene
Sam, seems to me you all really got hit heavy! ;)

TopSgt,
Here in the ozark foothills we have about an inch and a half of snow. It's the dry type. Roads are snow covered and no school. Heck, I'm thinking about driving the 36 miles to my lease this afternoon and doing a little bow hunting for a fat doe. I need to get out and see how the roads are.

we got about 1/2", Just not enough. Had planned to burn some brush piles but this just isnt enough to do it. This storm Split our location right down the middle, other places recieved alot more than we did.

We got enough to make the roads a little slick. Most of its melted off now. I went in to town and picked up some flicks to watch while sitting high and dry. Got everything ready to go fishing and we get iced. Just might have to brave it to see if anythings biting!
Hope this will give you an Idea what we got!

Thats about what it looks like here. Some people might laugh, but we dont get alot of snow here. Maybe once or twice a year. Usually its ice that we get, so its nice to get snow. I really hope we get a good snow this year. I'd like to have a foot or so before hunting season is over. I almost went after work today, but its already almost all melted off. :cursing:

Hey Young Man!
Early this am. we got about a 1/2 inch of the white stuff with light drizzle of rain that froze the top, sun came out and melted the east side of everything. Spose to have a few days of teen temperatures so I'd spect it may drive the Skippies up into warm water and if I cain't find a boat ride I'll have to make what I've got put up in the freezer last until spring when they start running below the dam. That's okay if the temps stay in the teens I aint gonna subject these old bones and their cousin aurthur to that kind of abuse. I still have enough put up for half a dozen trips so I ain't to desperate. I was thinking I should have went the other day when the front was moving in, the same day DH caught his PB, I didn't make it and now I'm :crying:
I need three things...
The first is easy...
Frozen Skipjack and I have plenty.
The second...
A 50+ degree day which is right around the corner.
And the Third...
I've got to get me a pink sweater that smells like twinkies!

I didn't make my regular Saturday fishing trip to Dardanelle yesterday on account of the weather. In fact, I stayed in all day and suffered fishing withdrawal symptoms. Guess I'm getting wimpy as I get older. But I think we needed some cooler weather so the fish will know when spring gets here. I do think the skippies will be moving into the warm water in the outlet after a few days of this below 20 weather.
Well, we got enough rain here in Arkansas to Last for awhile. we are getting different reports, one TV station says we got 3 inches another says 4 inches. we got alot!!
Well, we had one heck of a storm to hit around 2;45 AM 13 march 06. The lighting was cracking all around. wind was terrible and we also had some hail but it was only pea size.
What did you get last night/this morning?

Were at about 6 inches of snow and due for another 3-4 in the next few hours. Traffic is really bad. Schools late or closed, This is the best/worst storm we have had in some time in MN.
