River Rat there are several places that will meet your requirements. Community Park in New Albany is a pretty good channel cat lake. Deams Lake is home to some large channels. Hardy Lake up by Austin. And up in the Jackson Washinton State Forestry above Salem is home to several good lakes of which Potters Lake is my favorite. And a little farther up is Starve Hollow which also has some really nice channels. There are to many lakes and resevoirs within an hour of Clark and Floyd to try and list them all. If I can be of any help as to location or whatever let me know and I will help you out.

Brookville Resevouir is a big body of water in the southern part of the state. There is a flooded town and many other types of good cover. It is decent for catfish and is a good lake for walleye.

LIKE i posted once before BROOKVILLE LAKE is one of the most
under rated catfish lakes in that area, and it has a very good walleye
population, flying low over that lake you can see the old town under water
it is cool to see from above, and if you have a good locator you will find
it.lots of cover there for those big flatheads, give it a try the worst thing
that can happen,is you may hook a house that you cant land.there is a lot of
history buried there, only to be seen by scuba divers.

Is the lake open freely to scuba diving or do need to get a permit? id realy like to see and old under water town!
Also how far from Evansville IN is brookville lake? ive herd of it before and sounds like a place id like to spend a couple nights fishing for flathead.

BROOKVILLE LAKE is about a 5 hour drive from EVANSVILLE,if you are pulling
a boat.as far as i know you can dive in the lake as long as you display
your diver down flag.it would not hurt to check with the DNR and ask
that question,as things change all the time.

I will have to get my lake map out and look at it,the town is not in
that deep of water.there is supposed to be a way to go to GOOGLE,and
tell what you want to look at,and it is supposed to provide a satilite hook
up to view the lake.i have not tried it,but STUMP BUMPER did it on the
TURKEY CREEK LAKE,here in florida.when i find my map which is in my
desk drawer,or 1 of 4 boats,i will tell you exactley where it is located.
right now they have the water level down to winter pool, and the lake is
iced over when it thaws out and the water is clear,a zoomed in shot
from above should be GREAT to see.

I don't think it is quite a 5 hour drive. It only takes me 2-3 hours to get to the Ohio River from Indianapolis pulling a boat. It is probably closer to an hour or two drive.

Here is a link to the Indiana DNR page that contains maps and info on Brookville Resevoir.DNR (http://www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/properties/res_brookville.html)
