Lake Sooner

Lake Sooner is located in Pawnee County, 12 miles S of Ponca City, OK. It was impounded in 1976, has 5,400 surface acres, 42 miles of shoreline, and an average depth of 28 ft. Habitat ranging from standing timber, brush rows, tire reefs, and extensive amounts of rip-rap, Provide plenty of cover for the channel cats, blues cats, hybrid stripers, sand bass, stripers, crappie, and black bass.
Primarily used as a cooling reservoir for coal fired electric generating
plant, by OG&E.
