Skunk River

headed down to the skunk river yesturday and caught a 4.5 pounder, not bad for the frist time fishing that river. the water was way up and running fast and muddy, caught 6 of the 8 in a creek that fed into the river. i just love fishing new water . heading down to fort madsion today to give it try with glen (gordhawk) will give a report later.

what part of the skunk were you one i fish it a lot from delta to oskaloosa

Tried it yesterday. Caught 1 small cat. Actually I foul hooked him.The little ones liked the chicken livers but musta been too small to get hooked. The dip bait (Premos original) kept coming off the worm so I tried using a bobber. I could see them playing with it so they were biting. The bobber rig was what I foul hooked the one with.
They didn't like the baby shad (packaged from Wally world) at all.
A fella I met had been out 6 hours and said he caught 6. I saw him catch 3 small ones on night crawlers.
A couple of kids said they hadn't caught anything. Dunno how long they were fishin.
All this was bank fishing. Never even saw a boat.
