Where creek channels hit the main

I need some help. I fish blood river, Johnathan Creek, and other creeks on Kentucky Lake. I always have trouble finding where the creek channels empty into the main river channel. I think it is because it is a long way. I follow my depth finder but I don't know for sure if I am making it all the way. Is there any advise you guys can give me?

Also, are the ledges in blood river any good for catfishing?

Would you drift fish or anchor? How would you go about either of these techniques?
