I have done the same as that except it was a baby one minus and it was a 12 pound channel. I thought at first it was a huge bass.

I was just reading in the local paper that at a bass torny this past weekend a guy was jigging a Hopkins spoon and hokked a 44# flathead. Its good to know they are becoming active, I think I'm going to fish there tom. afternoon. By the way it was Smith Mountain Lake.
