Maps for gps

Was wanting to know where to download maps for hand held GPS unit?

dont know if there is a web site for it, but i use the national geographic map program. works very well. also use the garmin map progam it is not as good but will get you where your going. the garmin is bout 100 bucks for states. the other is bout 100 bucks per state but the detail is much better.
