Altamaha River- 11/12/05

Went fishing Sat. out of Altamaha Park. Got some great baits during low tide. Caught five flatheads- three around 5 lbs., one was 15 lbs. and one was 22 lbs. Bright moon over the river made for a beautiful night. Starting to get chilly though. Water temp. was 65 degrees.

Sorry Jim, it was kind of a last minute trip. Maybe next spring, we can meet up for some daytime bream, channel fishing and chase some flatheads at night. What is your biggest flathead from the Altamaha and do you fish mostly upriver?

I fish from JC's landing south and the state record came from there just south of JC's

I used to do a lot of fishing south of Jaycees landing also. On days where I have more time, I still go there. Yeah, the past three state records have come close to there. One from the paddleboat, one from morgans lake and one from lake bluff. What is your biggest from the Altamaha?

mine was 34lbs 6 ozs, caught north of Oglethorpe Bluff on the Wayne county side.
