New to this web site look forward to talking to some of you about fishing for flatheads. I catch 4 to 5 a year in 50 lb. range hear in Jackson. Love going to Jesup once or twice a year and catching 300 to 500 lbs on a weekend. I have lease land on the Flint in Thomaston where i grew up at and like to go wadeing fishing for shoal bass there.

Welcome to The BOC from the west coast. Flatheads here are rather scarce. The closest place for us to fish for them is in the Colorado river where they were planted in the early 60's. About a 250 mile drive for me. There is a small pay to play lake here called Irvine Lake that has planted flats but it's better known for large trout. At one time, the mid 70's, I did live at Yuma, Az. on the lower river and fished for flats on a regular basis. My personal best for catfish was a 45lb flathead I caught while living there.

Howdy and Welcome to the BOC. How ya like the site so far? Got anything you want to learn, the Library is great. And feel free to post any questions. We'll answer them best we can. Also, check out the chat room sometime. A lot of people are slow typers (me included sometimes), so don't worry about that. Anyway, I've learned a lot since I joined this place. And I keep learning. Hope you enjoy the BOC as much as I do.
