I fish the Coosa whenever I can afford the gas in the summer (usually a couple of times a month). I also fish mostly at night. I have not fished it in the winter months. What happens to the cats during the winter months? Do they migrate down stream to Lake Wiess? Are they in the deep holes, just not as active? Does it even pay to try for cats this time of year? I probably won't fish at night in the cold. Does it pay to fish during the day?
In the summer I use (mostly) live bream for bait. Do the winter months require a bait change? Maybe cut bait or even night crawlers or shrimp?
Any info on winter fishing the Coosa will be greatly appreciated.
