Deer hunting weapons...

How many different types of weapons have you taken deer with?
My list: recurve bow, compund bow, modern high powered rifles 30-30,30.06,.270,45-70,.444, .35,7mm-08, 7mm mag, cap lock muzzleloader with iron sights, inline muzzleloader, handgun, shotgun with slugs and shotgun with buckshot.
I once thought about trying to spear one but I done got too old for that type of thinking...lol.

Ive taken deer with a compound bow, inline .50 muzzleloader and many with my 30-06. Been wanting to get a recurve and crossbow to take deer with too.

well the best knock down power i have ever had was a pickup truck of coarse i never seen it until impact. so i didnt even have to aim for that one. the rest compounds,22-250,30-30,30-06,270, inlines, 12ga.buckshot.

I have taken deer with 30/06 - 308 - 270 - 22/250 - 7 mm Mag - 50 cal muzzle loader 16 gage shot gun and with my pickup truck and skinning knife.


I hit a spike buck coming back from hunting one night and had to kill it with my skinning knife.

I've taken deer with a mossberg 12 gauge smoothbore and with my pse beast compound bow. I also have a new savage stevens 30 '06 rifle and a t/c .50 cal flintlock thats been waiting to be christened with venison.

I use .30-06, 30-30 or if I'm walking around to hunt I use a 12 ga.

When I was younger I wanted to take a deer with every weapon that Ohio aloud you to use. Well over the years they added some on me but I still managed to keep up.

My favorite is always the 44 mag pistol. Most offten when hit they tend to go "DEAD" real quick. Never had to track one with the "Mag"!!!!

I've used more than anything my Savage 110 7mm mag, second was a 12 ga, and this year my PSE Bow which is what I will use from now on, no more gun hunting for me. Addicted to the rush of bowhunting! Chris

12 and 20 gauge shotguns with slugs... they don't like to go far after you hit them right behind the shoulder with one of those!

Let's see I have used a marlin .30-30, remington .30-06, remington 7mm Rem Mag, Weatherby 270WSM, .Savage 300 Win mag, and my Hoyt Trykon.:cool2:

I've taken deer with a bow, and 30/30 lever action. I've hunted with a 12 guage but haven't gotten one with it yet.

The weirdest one I've seen is the wrought iron gate. I saw a deer that managed to get its head caught between the bars, and I'll leave it to your imagination at to what happened from there.:wink:
