Sauger fishing below Ozark Dam

Anyone know if the Sauger are biting yet below the Ozark dam? My dad used to bank fish for them every winter. He is 82 now and not as nimble so I thought I may try to go with him in his tracker, or take him out in my boat if they are biting.
