Woodpecker Holes

I was scouting for deer sign several years back and found this tree with all these woodpecker holes.

Looks like they were trying to give you some hand and foot holes so you could get up in that tree and join them.

Pilieatedoodpeckers can do a number on fenceposts and old trees! We have em' round here and I love to watch them! I usually carry field glasses with me down to the riverbank so I can get a good look at these and all the Herons and Osprey as well as Bald Eagles and the huge Owles! I love Pennsylvania!
