River fishing

Hi all,
I am planning on fishing the Cedar River, Cedar Falls/Waterloo area, on Saturday. The high is expected to be in low 50s. Not too cold yet to catch some channels, is it? Think we will be using cut bait. Do we look for deeper holes or fish the edges. We will be bank fishing. Any ideas or suggestions?

welcome to the boc mary , im not from your area but id say yes the channels should be in the shallows still . i think in that area you might try deep too you may catch a flathead or two , hey that ryhmes lol . any way im sure some one from that area will give you better advice soon . good luck
