Fishing lock and dam #5

I was fishing below lock and dam #5 a couple of days ago, using a red saltwater jig hook with a white plastic grub, I caught several goo that weighed 3 to 4 lbs each. I was just wondering if goo and catfish school in the same area. I seemed to have zeroed in on a pocket right at the base of the spillway,and almost every time I hit that spot I caught a fish....just the wrong kind:embarassed:

Welcome to the BOC, Mike. I fish below the lock & dam from time to time and usually do well. I use a spoon and cast into the boiles by the flood gates. People are catching some big fish doing that. I have more luck in the spring and early summer. Ronnie (Freashwater Shark) said he catches more in the cold weather. Good luck, I hope you land a monster.
