I was just at this site, backed out, & saw where you'd put up pictures. I was wondering when we'd get some more! Those are all great. I love the ones of the bucks sparring. You've really gotten to observe these guys, haven't you? Great pictures again! Sam, I bet you don't realize how many people look forward to these. I talk to some of my friends on here, & even though they don't post a reply, they've seen the pictures. Everyone really enjoys them. Thanks!
Thanks Lady, glad ya'll enjoy them.

Awesome pics!
I sure hope I never have bucks like that in my pics. If I did, I would be able to stand it! I would go absolutely crazy waiting for hunting season.

Nice pics. Wish I had some private land to hunt up here. One of these days. By the way, how long did it take to get the deer to feed off the corn?
Nice pics. Wish I had some private land to hunt up here. One of these days. By the way, how long did it take to get the deer to feed off the corn?
Couple of days, most of the time, scatter several handfulls around a 10 foot circle around the feeder and they hit it pretty fast.
A side note, the acorns and persimmions have started falling here the last two weeks and the deer have just about stopped hitting the feeders. Of the 3 feeders I have two haven't been hit hardly at all in the last 10 days and the third one has got down from 20 pounds of feed and 150 to 300 pictures a day to 3 to 5 pounds of feed and 15 to 25 pictures a day. The bachelor groups of bucks have busted up and all the deer are hit'n white oak acrons hard. Happens every year this time of year, just always hope they stick around till bow season starts, bow season opened here today. Going to have to hit the oaks and persimmion trees til they play out and the deer move to the oat and wheat fields. Too hot to hunt here anyway, highs were in the low 70's last week, but it hit 90 today and the 7 day forecast is for high 80's and low 90's for the next week.

Hey Sam, I figured that was why you weren't posting any new pictures. Where I use to hunt the persimmons were pretty scarce but I had a stand in a big white oak that we called the tree of death. It was in a little draw that was full of white oaks. I killed a bunch of deer off of that stand.
Do you have any sawtooth oaks on your place? I had never heard of them until 5 or 6 years ago but the deer seem to like those acorns about as good as white oak acorns. A friend of mine planted some sawtooth acorns on his place and he said that in 5 years they were 20 ft tall and started making acorns. Then when we moved to Conway last year there are 2 big sawtooths in our yard. The last week or so when the wind blows a little hard you can hear those acorns bang and roll down the roof.
Good luck, I hope you hear some acorn popping in a day or two.

Got my Crossbow all sighted in yesterday and Planned on Huntin this evening, but Plumb forgot all about it. LOL I got busy doin other things, workin on the boat and other stuff I gotta get done before it gets cold. Maybe Tommorow evening. I have Plenty of Persimmons to hunt right next to a stand of white oaks..... Strip of woods about 75yds wide that has fields and houses on both sides of it, the deer use it to go from one side of the mountain to the next. Real good place. Several killed there. Thanks for all the Pictures Sam.......... Mac
