I have a hummingbird wide 128 on the boat, was on there when we got it this spring.Works fine in deeper water but you get around 10 ft or less it gets to acting crazy, read 3 160 10 just jumping around.Could this be a bad transducer? It is thru hull mounted and the boat is a 1979 sea ray 240 sundancer which been told has a thick hull.Leary to go to far on the north end of CJ BROWN cause the darn thing gets to acting up,any suggestions? Thanks

Sounds like you need to set the power and not let use auto and see what that does. Go in and set it where it reads right and try that. I know some units that are shooting through the hull will do that.
I had a LCR 4_ID that did that. But i ran it in manual and it did fine.
