Impounding the Illinois River, it has 12,900 surface acres, 130 miles of shoreline, and a maximum depth of 165 ft. Lots of rocky bluffs, rip-rap, boulders, drop-offs, sunken timber, and even caves make for plenty of structure. Major species include channel and blue catfish, striper, sand bass, black bass, walleye,
and various sunfish. Very clear water with an abundance of fishing opportunities.
