You don't have to twist my arm to make me go, I'll be there! I know the spot you're talking about, I have seen some huge blues (over 60lbs) in that water. There is plenty of room to bank fish. Make sure to bring your licenses! :D

I have been a member for several years and this is my first post. I was always content just to gather all the good info this forum has always provided. But I would like to attend this gathering if possible, so here is my first post. Sounds like this is a semi-secret fishing location, but I would guess this is on the Muscatatuck out of Austin/ Scottsburg area around the gauging station. As for the 20 1/2 inch bass in my avatar that was caught at Potters Lake on a cut blue gill head fishing the bottom on a Carolina Rig.

If you send a private message to LiLryjoe, he can give you some of the details. I dont think everything is firm yet.
He will more than likely send a message to everyone who responds to this thread. At a later date.
Been a member for several years huh? Its about time you spoke up and introduced yourself! I do hope you can be in Scottsburg. It will be my first time to meet any of these fishing animals too. I am looking forward to it.
I plan on putting in on the west fork of white river this saturday night and paddling up river to a spot I frequenty fish. Hope to send in some pictures on next monday.
Thanks for speaking up, let us hear how your fishing adventures go, see you in Scottsburg.

Well Bill let me clarify something before someone busts my chops. I have been under this user name since April of this year and under several other user names before that. I sent LiLryjoe a private message yesterday morning if I did it correctly and am sure he will respond when he gets a chance. I too would like to meet up with some fellow catfish hounds and maybe pick up a few new tricks. Good luck Saturday on the White River. I hope to get up to Potters Lake in the Jackson Washington State Forest this weekend and catch a few flatheads.

Thanks for the replies guys and it's good to see that you are all interested in attending :) I will send a Private Message to all that reply to this thread and we are looking forward to a good turn out. There is plenty of room where we are going so the more the merrier!! I think I have responded to everyone already, but I will send one to you on or around the 18th or the 19th with specific directions. Once again, thank you all for showing your support for the BOC and I look forward to seeing all of you. ;)

Hi Charlie, welcome to the BOC! I went up to Lake Shafer last weekend and was bottom fishing with a carolina rig and a big 7/0 hook with a gob of nightcrawlers, and I caught a walley, on accident! It reminded me of your post about your bass. I guess you never know. I caught a bass a few weeks ago on a big live goldfish. Earlier this summer I caught a carp on a live goldfish, now that confused me! "Cannibal Carp"- a quote from jroc77. Hope to see you on the 22nd!

I will hopefully still be able to come to the outing this weekend. I just got an email today that we might have to work on Saturday but if I do hopefully they will let me work days and I can be off work by 2 or 3 in the afternoon. I'm ready to catch some big fish.

Hey Guys,
I have been out of town for the past two weekends on business trips. While I hate to point fingers, I must admit that the woman has attached the shackles to my ankles! And they are tight! I will not be able to make it this weekend  Don't let me ruin the weekend for you guys, the big ones should be starting to fatten up for winter. Good Luck

Again, I'm sorry guys, we'll definately have to get a gathering for next spring! Take it easy!

Greetings fishermen, I regret to inform you guys that i will not be able to attend. i was looking very forward to it, but my father was trimming a tree last sunday and a limb that he cut loose caught on the way down and it swung over and knocked him out of the tree, he fought all week to beat his injuries but he lost the fight yesterday morning. My father was one of the biggest fishermen you will ever meet. he took us kids camping and fishing with him from litterlay the time we were born. if we wernt camping on flatrock river and fishing, he would take us to my gramdpa's and take him fishing. I met a guy that he worked with at allison and he told me that before my dad met my mom, they traded rides to work. he then told me that when it was his turn to drive, at least one day out of the week when he showed up to pick up my dad, he would be standing there with a fishing pole, his waders, and a small tackle box and my dad would have him drop him off on a river on thier way to work and my dad would be standing on the bridge on his way back home. I asked my dad if he played hooky from work and he said yes, i didnt have you kids to take care of back then so i didnt have to work everyday. I have a picture of me and my dad wading in flatrock river. i was 3 years old at the time. he was standing in water to his waist and he had a rope tied to his belt that was tied to the top of a life vest that i was wearing.
i have the top half of a cane pole in my hands. my aunt gave me that picture and when i showed it to him, he laughed and said that when it would get shallow enough for me to walk, i would and then just lay back and float when it was too deep. I am indeed one of the luckiest guys in the world to have been able ot fish with this man and raise beagles to hunt rabbits with for the last 47 years. When you guys are out there this weekend fishing, lift your drink of choice in memory of a true sportsman. thanks for letting me ramble.

I will be coming down with at least one other person. Will probably be leaving sometime in the early afternoon and should be staying overnight. I called down there and I think I have directions. I am coming from Indianapolis. They told me to take 65 S. to exit #19 which is the Scottsburg exit. Go left off the exit. Will come to a 4 way light which should be HWY 31. Go right onto 31. After passing the underwood gas station look for Beagle Club Rd. on the left. Should be on this road somewhere. If this doesn't sound right please let me know.

Hi Guys (and Gals),
Did you have any luck this weekend down there? I hope you did, and I look forward to hearing the results.

I never made it down there. I ended up going with a couple of buddies to Eagle Creek where we fished before. The water had almost dried up and you could see the bottom in the middle probably only about 2 ft. deep. We left there and fished the resevoir instead. We used cut creek chub, live creek chub, live goldfish, and liver. My buddy caught one small channel cat on the liver. I had one real good bite on live chub but he never took it. The chub was about 8-9 inches long and had a big press mark down its middle and it had split the guts out. I figure it was probably a cat grabbing it.

Thanks for all the sentiments guys, we laid my dad to rest with one of his favorite rods and reel, a small tackle box, and a filet knife. ( he always had those things ready to use at the drop of the hat) It is something that everyone has to go through. Like I told a new found friend, I feel very bad for all the kids these days who dont even know who their dad is, let alone be able to do all the things that I was able to do with my dad. Thanks again to one and all.
I am looking forward to see some fish pictures from the 22nd hope everyone there got to pull something in!
