We went yesterday eve for a couple hours and caught a couple of nice channels around 3 lbs. each. Misssed a couple also. We were using dip bait, Hoss's Hawg Bait & Sonny's, and Hoss's Hawg Bait seem to be what they wanted. We were also using 2 Loopers Rigs on each pole. The channel my wife caught took both Looper Rigs. Seen some othes with some nice channels also. We left before dark but think if we had stayed we would have limited out on eaters. No pictures since we didn't have the camera. Only problem with Prairie Lake is that you have to find a spot where you can cast beyond weed line or you could use slip bobber.

Jim, Amy and I went down there today around 3:00 or so and left before dark. Caught 3 really nice eaters. She caught one and I caught two. Caught mine on Hoss's and hers was caught using Sonny's. All on Loopers of course. When they hit they hit hard, on the Hoss's. I finished off my can of it and need a refill. Will take care of that tomorrow.

Went out to Prairie Lake around 5:30PM and fished until 7PM. Was using Shrimp and Hoss's Hawg Bait. Caught 6 nice channels, the largest 4.5 lbs. Caught 5 on Hoss's and 1 on shrimp. Broke 1 fish off, he got into the weeds and couldn't get him out. Only allowed 6 cats at JEPCSF&WA. Cleaned them at the fish cleaning station which is great. Plenty of water and grinder to get rid of waste. Best day so far this year for me, 6 keepers in 90 minutes.

Ya I like them fried and have cooked them on the grill. have only had them for breakfast a couple of time with eggs and hash browns. We eat alot of fish but mostly panfish. I catch alot in earlr spring and late fall. Still like cat but not as well as some good bluegill/crappie fillets

Was at Prairie Lake yesterday around 6PM - 8:30PM. Caught first channel about 5 seconds after bait hit the water. Caught last channel 10 miniutes before I left. Thought it was going to be a great evening CATCHING fish. Had plenty of hits but they must of been fidlers and couldn't get bait in their mouth. Caught both fish on Hoss's using a Looper Rig (circle hook) and both fish inhaled the rigs. Got them back when I cleaned the fish and both rigs were in their stomachs. Fish were in the 3/4 lb range. Not a bad night for not getting a hit the past 4 nights. Lost my full time fishing partner. She has gone back to school. She is a 3rd grade teacher. She is know on a part-time status. Shawn (Mongesf) and his wife showed up and got a couple of hits.

Jim, could you or someone put up a picture of the rig you are using to catch the cats at Site M?

I've caught a few Bass there and one Musky, but never tried for cats. Where to get Hosses dippin bait?

Thanks,
Phil

Go to BOC sponsors and the first link is for Looper Rigs. Great dip bait holders. Probably the best around. Will send PM on where to get Hoss's

Just got home from fishing Prairie and Drake Lake at JEPCSF&WA. Caught 1 nice channel at Prairie and then we went over to Drake and got our limits. Was fishing with Mongesf (Shawn).
He had hole and if he had gotten all that hit we couldn't of carried them. Anyway the limit is 6 channels at JEPCSF&WA.
